Harplow inside

Harplow is a six-bedroom detached farmhouse which will accommodate three young people and three staff. Set within spacious private grounds, providing children with plenty of space for relaxation, play and sensory activities. The home has been carefully adapted to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment that meets the individual needs of the children living here. The home has two lounges, offering children a choice of spaces for socialising, relaxing, watching TV, listening to music or spending quieter time. There is also a bright dining area and a fully fitted modern kitchen. The dining area provides a communal space where children and staff can enjoy meals together, develop life skills and build positive relationships. The conservatory provides access to the large rear garden. Harplow provides a warm and therapeutic environment where children are supported through consistent care, education and therapeutic approaches to achieve positive outcomes and prepare for their future. Children are encouraged to have a voice in how the home is decorated and to personalise their own bedrooms. Each child has a single-occupancy bedroom with comfortable furnishings and is provided with a personal budget to choose items that reflect their personality, interests and individual identity. Children are encouraged to develop a sense of ownership and belonging within the home, while their privacy, dignity, individual choices and needs are respected.

Comfortable and Cosy

Our children’s home has been thoughtfully designed to provide a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment where every young person can feel safe and at home. Each bedroom is cosy and inviting, providing a private space where children can relax, unwind and enjoy time to themselves. Bedrooms can also be personalised to reflect each young person’s individual tastes, interests and personality, helping them to feel a real sense of belonging and ownership of their space. Our modern bathroom facilities are finished to a high standard, creating a clean, bright and comfortable environment. They are designed with the needs, privacy and dignity of our young people in mind, while maintaining a homely feel rather than an institutional setting. Together, our bedrooms and bathrooms help create a nurturing home environment where children can feel comfortable, valued and settled.
